Orange Julius

This was definitely a favorite childhood treat of mine.  Nothing tastes better on those hot summer days!  First, is the regular recipe, but I’m also including a modified, healthy version so you can drink this as much as you want and not feel guilty.  Bottoms up!

Orange Julius

12 oz. frozen orange juice

12 oz. water

2 tsp. vanilla

3/4 cup sugar

3+ cups ice cubes

  1. Put everything in a blender and blend until it’s the consistency of a slushy. Enjoy!  (Seriously, could it get any easier?)

Healthy Version of Orange Julius

12 oz. frozen orange juice

diet lemon-lime soda, 12 oz. plus enough to make 3+ cups of ice cubes (I like to us Shasta b/c it’s cheap but good.  And for those of you who are anti-aspertame, Shasta uses Splenda in their diet sodas instead.)

2 tsp. vanilla

  1. I’m not really sure of the exact measurements for the soda here– I always just eyeball it.  Just put the OJ, vanilla, and frozen soda in the blender and add enough liquid soda for it to be able to actually blend.  Add more liquid/frozen soda as needed to get that slushy consistency.
